Jesus is the humble and suffering Servant of God. He speaks of God’s power passively-“your sins are forgiven.” He never takes on the mantle of His divinity except to achieve God’s plan.
The subtle yet sublime humility of Jesus ought to be the hallmark of every disciple. We can give the glory and the honor to God by always pointing to Him. Gracious and loving God, when I am privileged to do Your will, may I do so gently and passively. Help me to point to what You accomplish and not to myself.
