When St. Luke recounts the return of the seventy-two, we see that the proper posture of a Christian discipleship is one of thanksgiving. When we celebrate the gift of Christian discipleship we acknowledge that this vocation is the greatest grace that God offers.

Do I live my life in a spirit of thanksgiving? Do others experience me as a grateful person? Am I able to accept a compliment when someone offers one?

O gracious God, may today be a day of thanksgiving. Grant me an attitude of gratitude that makes discipleship attractive. May I be a grateful servant?
