Fourth Sunday of Lent
John 9:1-41

Suffering is a mystery, and so it can’t be completely understood. Such is the case with the man in today’s Gospel.

He is born blind. Needing a reason, they think either the man himself or his parents have sinned, and his blindness is a punishment sent from God.

Jesus makes no attempt whatever to explain this tragedy or any other. There are some complexities in our faith life, and we cannot unlock or explain all the mysteries of our faith.

I can, however, allow God’s simple truth to find expression in my daily life.
