He is risen! Alleluia! Easter Sunday is the great triumph of hope over despair, life over death, and love over fear. The empty tomb is a declaration that no darkness—no addiction, no struggle, no past mistake—is beyond the reach of Christ’s redeeming love.

At Guest House, we witness this Easter miracle every day. Recovery is a journey of resurrection—of stepping out of the tomb of addiction and into the light of healing and renewal. For those we serve, the road to recovery is a process of rediscovering dignity, purpose, and the joy of God’s mercy. Like Mary Magdalene in the garden, encountering the risen Christ, we are called to recognize His presence in our lives and to proclaim the Good News of transformation.

Easter reminds us that no one is ever too lost for redemption. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in the lives of those seeking healing, in the hearts of those offering support, and in the mission of Guest House.

Today, as we celebrate the resurrection, let us pray for all who long for new beginnings. May they know that, in Christ, there is always hope, always renewal, and always the promise of abundant life.

When I realize there is so much quiet in each day, I ponder more about the purpose of quiet time. I am convinced that quiet time is God’s way of speaking to me and inviting me to listen to God’s Loving Presence, which always embraces me and draws me into a healing and joyful connection. Quiet time is to help me experience an amazing healing and loving connection with God. All of life is meant to bring me into a loving experience of God and to bring love to others. There should be no negativity in my abundance of quiet time each day. ONLY LOVE. ONLY GOD. ONLY AWARENESS OF GOD’S AMAZING AND UPLIFTING LOVE. AND THIS WILL BE FOREVER. “But through the greatness of your love, I have access to your house.”

On Good Friday, we stand at the foot of the Cross, witnessing the ultimate act of love and sacrifice. Jesus, though innocent, takes upon Himself the weight of our brokenness, our suffering, and our sin. For those struggling with addiction and mental health challenges, this moment resonates deeply. The Cross represents not only suffering but also the solidarity of Christ with those who feel burdened, ashamed, or abandoned.

At Guest House, we walk alongside Catholic clergy and religious on their journey of recovery, just as Christ bore the weight of the Cross for all of us. Addiction can feel like a heavy cross, one that isolates and wounds. Yet, even in the depths of pain, Jesus shows us that suffering is not the end of the story. His love reaches into our darkness, inviting us to trust that redemption is possible.

As we meditate on the Passion of Christ, we remember that Good Friday is not just about sorrow—it is also about surrender. In our own struggles, we are called to lay our burdens at the feet of Jesus, trusting that His love can heal even the most wounded parts of our souls.

Let us pray today for all who carry the cross of addiction and mental health struggles. May they find comfort in the One who walks with them in their suffering and leads them toward new life.
