PATRICK J. KENNEDY

The 66th Annual Bishop's Dinner is set to take place on October 8, 2024, promising an evening of inspiration and advocacy. We are pleased to announce that Patrick Kennedy, a renowned mental health and addiction advocate, and former United States Representative, will deliver the keynote address.

Mr. Kennedy has a profound impact on the national conversation surrounding mental health and addiction, and his message will resonate deeply with our community. As the featured speaker for the 66th Annual Bishop's Dinner, he will share his insights, experiences, and vision for a healthier, more compassionate society.

During his time in Congress, Patrick J. Kennedy was the lead author of the landmark Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (Federal Parity Law), which requires insurers to cover treatment for mental health and substance use disorders no more restrictively than treatment for illnesses of the body. In 2013, he founded The Kennedy Forum, a nonprofit that unites advocates, business leaders, and government agencies to advance evidence-based practices, policies, and programming in mental health and addiction. In 2023, The Kennedy Forum launched the Alignment for Progress, a movement to align leaders from across industry and across the aisle to transform our mental health and addiction systems. Patrick Kennedy co-authored his latest book, “Profiles in Mental Health Courage,” available April 2024, which delves into the compelling stories of a diverse group of Americans who have struggled with their mental health – many of whom are sharing their stories for the first time. Please consider joining us for crucial insights that will reshape and improve our mental health and addiction systems, providing resources and equity to all.

Mark your calendars for October 8, 2024, and join us for an inspiring and impactful evening at the 66th Annual Bishop's Dinner.
