The Holy Innocents
He ordered the massacre of all boys in Bethlehem
Today, we celebrate and remember the Holy Innocents who were killed when King Herod ordered the massacre of all baby boys two years old and under. He wanted to kill Jesus since he felt he was a threat to him.Â
Lord God, we remember all of the little ones who lost their lives on that day. Give them all a special place in your heavenly kingdom. Help us to remember that violence does not accomplish anything. Help us work for peace and justice in our world and in our own lives.
