John 20:1a. 2-8
St. John
The other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first.
The question remains to this day: Who was the “other disciple whom Jesus loved” who ran with Peter to the tomb of Jesus? He is mentioned in the scriptures anonymously, but who is he? John the Apostle, John the Son of Zebedee, or John the Presbyter? Is it you, or is it I? Ponder this question in your heart and ask yourself, who is this, John?
Lord God, we ask for your wisdom and knowledge in knowing who this John is. Does it really matter for us to know? Help us to understand your Word that you give to us every day. You are the Savior of the World who has graciously given us so many gifts in our lives. We thank You for sending us Your only Son, Jesus, so that we may have eternal life.
