December is the time of year when we remember, anticipate, and long for the coming of Jesus Christ, our Savior. He has already come, but we still long for him to come again. This Advent, we go on a journey to prepare a place for our Lord and Savior in our hearts once again. Advent is a beautiful season in our liturgical calendar as it is a time of preparation for Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.
The first candle (purple) represents hope as we await the arrival of our Savior.Â
First Sunday of Advent, December 1, 2024
Luke 21:25-28, 34-36
Your redemption is at hand.
When these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your head because your redemption is at hand.
Loving Creator, be with us to prepare our hearts to welcome you once again into our lives. Help us be attentive to the signs around us so we can truly prepare our hearts for the coming of our Savior.
