Mark 8:22-26
His sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly.
Our Gospel reading highlights the themes of eyes and sight, hands and touch. To restore the man’s sight, Jesus uses His hands, His touch, and even spittle on the man’s eyes. How often do we take for granted the gift of eyesight, the use of our hands, or the ability to give and receive touch in our daily lives?
Lord our God, thank You for the gift of our eyes and our ability to see things more clearly. Thank You for the gift of our hands so we may touch one another and be touched when we are hurting or just need a hug. Let us not take our eyesight or gift of touch for granted since we need our sight to see and need to touch and comfort one another.
