Mark 6:14-29
It is John whom I beheaded. He has been raised.
In our readings today, we hear about John being beheaded. He is the one who prepared the way of the Lord. John the Baptist had a group of followers, and when John pointed out Jesus, some of them left John to follow Jesus. John gave his life in preparing the way of the Lord.
God our Father, help us to follow You. Help us to be open to Your Spirit, which will lead and guide us as we follow You with our hearts and lives. Let us follow You with the faith and understanding that John had about You. Give us the wisdom to see and understand You as we follow You, and You will lead and guide us.
