The Presentation of the Lord Feast
Today, we celebrate the presentation of the Lord in the temple, where Jesus is presented to the Lord in accordance with the Law of Moses. This day is also called Candlemas Day when the church blesses the candles for use during Masses and in homes. In the earlier days of the church, this day was also known as the end of the Christmas Season.
Lord our God, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to be our model and example for all to see. Lord, help us to see things as Your Son sees them in our world. Let us have the heart of compassion that Your Son has for everyone.
