Mark 9:30-37
The Son of Man is to be handed over.
Whoever wishes to be first, shall be last of all.
Jesus begins to tell His disciples that he will have to suffer, die, and be raised up in three days. The disciples are not really listening to Him since they are talking about who is the greatest among them. Jesus teaches them that to be the greatest, they must be last and serve others. They will have to have a servant’s heart. One who serves others without complaining is one who has a true servant’s heart.
Creator God, help us not fight with one another but be peacemakers for all to see. We praise You and thank You for all You do for us. Help us to see Your light in one another. Let us be the servant leaders that You call us to be.
