Mark 7:1-13
Our Lady of Lourdes, opt. memorial
You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition.
Today, we hear about God creating our world and making it wonderful and beautiful. In the Gospel reading, we hear the Pharisees challenging Jesus since the disciples are eating without washing their hands, which is part of the Jewish tradition. The Pharisees also do not always keep God’s commandments; they just want to find fault with Jesus.
Lord God, thank You for creating our world and making it wonderful and beautiful. Help us to take care of our world better than we have in the past. Give us the wisdom and knowledge to care for what You have given us so freely. Thank You for Your love for us, Your children. Help us follow Your commandments and keep them.
