HOPE: how we and our world need it!
Confidence is a Gospel experience which always flows from genuine hope. Not confidence in ourselves and our efforts but in the never-failing presence and love of the risen Lord. Capuchin Bl. Solanus Casey often said, “Confidence is the heart of prayer.” If in the midst of my personal storms and those of our Church and world I stay anchored, grounded in Christ’s presence, I’ll not be paralyzed with fear/dread. I am not alone; Christ is with me. With him I have everything I need (not always what I WANT) to get through this. That brings light, joy and peace to me – and others too!
