HOPE: how we and our world need it!
During storms a ship’s crew confidently throws its anchor into the water beneath the ship. It obviously has no power to take away or even reduce the storm’s strength but during the storm it securely holds the ship. Knowing this gives strength, hope, and confidence to all on board. They might be beaten and battered by the power of the storm, but they will be OK; they will reach their destination. Christ is our hope, our anchor – as well as our destination! What are we afraid of?
