Recalling his experience with the transfigured Jesus, St Peter said, “We heard the words, ‘This is my beloved Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased.’” Then he added, “You will do well to be attentive to it.” In other words, pay attention to the divine life revealed in Jesus’ life and teaching. Don’t pass it off as something from a far distant century. Pay attention also to the fact that through your baptism, you too are God’s beloved son/daughter. In your ordinary life you have Jesus’ divine life within you! Are you paying attention to it in all your ordinary moments?
