Too often we equate holiness with ”perfection.” That’s a huge mistake which Peter or Paul never made. In nearly every epistle Paul points out to the “holy ones” areas where they’re not being true to the holiness of Christ within them. The Corinthians still had divisions within their Christian community; they’re not treating everyone with the respect and love they deserve as equal members of Christ’s body. They’re still “saints” because Christ’s holiness dwells within them, but they’re also still sinners, on the way to fully living out their baptism. That’s all of us, too!
