At the Annunciation the angel tells Mary that Elizabeth has also been blessed and hints that she could use help. Mary’s YES to the angel is YES not only to what God is doing in her but also YES to others, like Elizabeth. Instead of becoming absorbed in what God is doing in her, she “immediately” goes to be with Elizabth. Do I at times get so wrapped up in my own spiritual life that I fail to reach out to others in need?
