Guest House Daily Reflections

Jesus’ first words in Mark’s gospel are: “This is the time of fulfillment.  The kingdom of God is at hand.  Repent and believe in the Good News” (1:15).  The Greek word for “repent” is metanoia.  Commentators tell us this means a ”profound and usually spiritual transformation or change of mind and heart.  Not just sorrow for sins but a fundamental shifting of one’s perspective and entire way of thinking, leading to  spiritual renewal, a new orientation toward life.”  Have I let this happen in my life?
