Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 9:38-43, 45, 47-48

There are people not of our company who this very day are feeding the hungry and housing the homeless, who are casting out demons of poverty or demons of hate. If Jesus could see Samaritans, and tax collectors and Roman soldiers as his co-workers why can’t we be a bit more inclusive? God is not threatened by differences. It is we who are. To Jesus, these were people of character and compassion. We as Christians do not have the monopoly on correctness. “Would that all the people of the Lord were prophets. For whoever is not against us is for us.
