Feast of St. John the Apostle
John 20: 1a, 2-8
John remembers that Mary Magdalene came to him and Peter early on Sunday morning, just before dawn. John remembers how he and Peter started out in a run for the tomb. For a time, they ran side by side; then John got ahead. Perhaps it was the deep love John had for Jesus that made him run all the faster. Remember, this was the disciple whom Jesus loved.
The story tells us that Peter “observed,” but it was John who “saw and believed.” May we be sensitive to see the Lord in all the happenings of our life. It is faith that helps us to see that the Lord is the One orchestrating our life.
