2017 Fall Regional Seminar
“Emotional Sobriety”

According to Bill W., co-founder of AA, emotional sobriety was and remains the cornerstone of a lasting and meaningful life in recovery. This retreat will explore the themes of self-soothing, forgiveness, self-acceptance and Christian spirituality as they relate to recovery in religious and priestly life. One of the main resources for this recovery retreat is the book by Tian Dayton, Ph.D., Emotional Sobriety, Health Communications Inc., 2010.

This seminar is offered to Guest House alumni and also to clergy and men religious who came to recovery through other treatment centers or entered recovery on their own. Please feel free to invite other recovering clergy and religious to attend. Our seminars are designed as an opportunity to reflect and to discuss in fellowship with other clergy and religious the material from the presenters. There is also important time for rest, relaxation and refreshment as well as individual and group prayer and 12-Step meetings.
