When Jesus is asked by one of the scribes to cite which is the greatest commandment, He turns the trick question on its head and uses it as a teaching moment. One must first love God and then – equally – love one’s neighbor.
By loving my neighbor, I express my love for God. By truly loving God, I seek the opportunity to love those around me today.
O gracious God, may I love others as I know You love me. May I be confident in Your Love and then be bold in caring for others.
