LAKE ORION, Michigan – Runners are lacing up their shoes for the inaugural running of Run Over Addiction, a 5K run/walk hosted by Guest House May 16, 2015. The scenic course starts and ends at Scripps Mansion, on the campus of Guest House in Lake Orion, Michigan. Check-in will open at 7:00 a.m., with the race kicking off at 9:00 a.m. All runners and walkers will receive a tee shirt and a medal for participating.
“Run Over Addiction is a fun way to bring the community to our campus while spreading awareness of what Guest House does,” said Special Events and Donor Relations Manager Lisa Drummond. “We’ve designed this event to be family friendly, with children’s activities, music, exhibitor booths, and refreshments after the race.”
The 5 k course is USATF certified and endorsed by Pure Michigan FITness and the Governor’s Council. Funds raised by Run Over Addiction support the mission of Guest House which is to provide the information, education, treatment and care needed to assure that clergy, religious and seminarians suffering from alcoholism, addictions and other behavioral health conditions have the best opportunity for quality recovery and overall health and wellness.
