Seminars/Retreats/Workshops/Events Leadership Workshops for Women Religious "Walking with the Wounded"
These workshops are designed to help women religious leadership to assist their sisters overcome addictions and compulsive behaviors in religious life. There is no charge for the workshops or accommodations or on campus meals. However, participants are responsible for their own travel. Free pickup is available from the Detroit and Windsor area airports, and to and from local hotels. All workshops are held at Guest House Lake Orion in Michigan.
The 2010 Schedule is: Click here for printable brochure & registration form. Workshops For Women Religious Guest House and The Inter-Congregational Addiction Program (ICAP) are co-sponsoring a series of educational workshops called “The Hidden Signs of Addiction.”
They are being directed by Sister Lee Anne Farrell, SSND, former Vice President for Women’s Services, and Sister Mary Gene Kinney, BVM, Continuing Care Coordinator for Women's Services at Guest House. Thanks to ICAP’s grants from the Daughters of Charity and Sisters of Charity, BVM, the workshops are being offered at just $25 per day (this includes lunch).
Topics being presented are: recognizing signs of substance or “process” addictions (such as gambling); intervention for a sister caught up in addiction; available treatment modalities and philosophies; the recovery process; and, support for the addicted sister, including support from her religious community.

Retreats Retreats are offered for priests and male religious as well as for women religious and other women in recovery.
Recovery Retreats Guest House Staff are also available to present Recovery Retreats to a variety of audiences throughout the country. Other types of spirituality programs are available.
Regional Seminars Guest House Staff offer Seminars on Addiction and Recovery to all recovering clergy and religious at a variety of locations. You'll hear the latest developments on treatment and recovery from Guest House Executive Staff and Clinical Staff members. You'll also have the opportunity to share the fellowship of other recovering clergy and religious while reinforcing your own recovery.
