CONTINUING CAREContinuing care is an important element of effective treatment. Ongoing attention aids the client in the re-entry process by helping them to apply the skills learned in treatment to daily life. To further support ongoing recovery Guest House at St. John Vianney provides: ╬ A detailed description of ongoing supports needed. ╬ Depending on individual circumstances, a therapeutic leave may be utilized towards the end of primary care. Therapeutic leave allows the priest or religious to share their experience, needs and commitments to their recovery with significant persons in their community, family and ministerial life. ╬ A re-entry visit may be scheduled with the parish or religious community and the client and the therapist. ╬ Continuing care, which is called "Recovery Retreat" is conducted at six, twelve, and eighteen months for three days at Guest House at St. John Vianney, Downingtown, PA. Participation in the appropriate support system provides clergy or religious the opportunity to develop a mature appreciation of their strengths and vulnerabilities. |
