Feast of Saints Perpetua and Felicity
During His public ministry, Jesus is often accused of violating the law with the intent to destroy it. Jesus actually has more respect for the law than do His critics.
It is the eternal truth about right and wrong. To keep it is wise; to break it is foolish; to destroy it is impossible.
Jesus says that His purpose is to fulfill the law. He does this in two ways. Number one, he keeps it; and two, he lives by it. He ignores the petty rules of the Pharisees, but he honors and obeys the moral law of God.
