Luke 10:21-24

We all remember the story of Rip Van Winkle – and what happened to him is very real. It happens all the time – people drift and dream through life with little or no awareness of the advantages and opportunities of the day in which they live. Jesus sought to avert this tragedy in the lives of His followers – “Blest are the eyes that see what you see. I tell you, many prophets and kings wished to see what you see but did not see it, and hear what you hear and did not hear it.”

Jesus is calling His disciples to consciousness of their own time and events that were taking place around them. I have every confidence that He would be saying the same to us today.
