Blessing and Dedication During Mass, August 23, 2017
Celebrant – Guest House Chaplain Fr. George Hazler

Celebrant: Lord of Light, in the beginning, you separated the light from the darkness and said it was good.
All: The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
Celebrant: When Moses and the children of Israel escaped in darkness,
All: you sent a pillar of flame to light the way.
Celebrant: When in our sin we turned away and called for darkness to surround us, you pursued us.
All: Even the darkness is not dark to you, O Lord; the night is as bright as day.
Celebrant: In a stable dark, your light was born in human form.
All: The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.
Celebrant: So, may the light that shines through these windows be a blessing to us and remind us of your true light. Bless these windows for the glory of your name.
Together:
Lord of Light, in the beginning, you separated the light from the darkness and said it was good.
You are the true light which enlightens all people.
May the light that shines through these windows be a blessing to us and remind us of your true light.
Bless these windows which we now dedicate to you, for the adornment of this chapel and the inspiration of your people.
Grant that as the light shines through them in many colors, so our lives may show forth the beauty of your many gifts of grace.
Let our light shine in the sight of all people so that, seeing our good works, all may give glory to you.
We make this prayer through your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The chapel windows are dedicated to the living and deceased women graduates of Guest House.
